...On its use of coal, the plant enlisted the University of Suez to complete Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) in May 2013 and September 2015.  As is the case for all cement companies using coal, the findings of these EIAs were presented to key stakeholders and the government, confirming the safe use of coal to provide the necessary energy to maintain cement production for the Egyptian economy...
