Alessandra Korap Munduruku (or Alessandra Munduruku), an indigenous leader, has long suffered constant threats for denouncing illegal miners. Throughout the month of May, Alessandra's social networks were successively invaded and her WhatsApp account was cloned; in both cases the leader's profiles have been used to fire hate and defamation messages, in addition to threats and attempts to intimidate her friends and family and to humiliate and demoralize her. Previously, in November 2021, after she denounced the Brazilian government and a range of private sector and organized criminal actors that threaten Munduruku lands and rights at the COP26, her house had been broken into.
