Bourns response

Bourns is mentioned on page 6 of NAKO’s statement as one of the Western companies whose electronic components were found in the missile manufactured by North Korea and used in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict against Ukraine. Bourns is disturbed by this finding. Our review of the pictures provided in the NAKO statement leads us to conclude that the Bourns® component shown is our standard component manufactured in 2010 (date code 1027).

Any sale or shipment of Bourns® components into North Korea is illicit and unauthorized. Bourns has not sold nor shipped any equipment, parts, or products to any company in North Korea or any North Korean company. Bourns also prohibits its distributors from selling Bourns® components for use in North Korea or to a North Korean customer. Bourns continues to actively work to identify and disrupt any diversion of its components into sanctioned countries.

Bourns complies with all applicable export laws and regulations. This includes sanctions imposed on North Korea by the United States Government as well as the governments of Australia, Japan, South Korea, and the European Union. In addition, following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Bourns immediately ceased business activities with our distributors authorized to transact business with Russia and the Russian-backed regions of Ukraine and Belarus...

Bourns supports and cooperates with law enforcement, government agencies, and/or non-governmental organizations in the investigations of any alleged diversion or export violation involving Bourns® components.
