Brasil: Loteamento de terras de uso tradicional quilombola em posse da Suzano Papel e Celulose coloca famílias sob risco de despejo

Terras em Itaúnas e em Conceição da Barra (ES), propriedades da Suzano Papel e Celulose, estão sendo ocupadas por associações recém-criadas que loteiam e vendem os terrenos, apesar de a região ser de uso tradicional quilombola há mais de 10 anos. O movimento quilombola teme que, durante as ações de reintegração de posse à empresa, as mais de 70 famílias que ali vivem sejam despejadas. A Suzano afirma que as referidas ações direcionam-se, apenas, a grupos que realizaram ocupações territoriais clandestinas; e que mantém um “amplo relacionamento com as comunidades da região”.
