Brasil: Tragedia por ruptura de dique de relaves de Vale deja decenas de muertos y cientos de desaparecidos

El 25 de enero de 2019, ocurrió un nuevo colapso de tres diques de contención de desechos de la minera Vale, tragedia que afecta la mina de Feijao, en Brumandinho, en el mismo estado de Minas Gerais, en donde se produjo la tragedia de Samarco, un emprendimiento minero de Vale y BHP Billiton en la que murieron 19 personas y quedaron afectados miles de habitantes de 39 poblados aledaños. En este caso, se trata del segundo peor desastre minero del continente. Las comunidades afectadas del Río Doce se solidarizaron con estas nuevas víctimas, recordando que a la fecha no han recibido una reparación integral del daño por parte de la empresa. Persisten la falta de controles socioambientales y la acción estatal para hacer que las empresas cumplan con la ley y respeten los derechos humanos. Con comentarios de la empresa Vale.
