The violations of the Right to Housing in Rio de Janeiro under the justification of the sportive megaevents persist and tend to aggravate with the proximity of the games. Around 3 thousand families established in the city were already removed and other 8 thousand are being threatened...The dossier denounces the violation process of the right to housing and highlights the disrespect, by the authorities, of the right of the citizens of having access to information and of participating of the decision making processes...The dossier aims to mobilize the popular movements, trade unions, civil society organizations, Human Rights organizations, citizens compromised with the social and environmental justice, to sum to the Popular Committee for the World Cup and Olympics of Rio de Janeiro in the fight for another Olympic project, resulting from the public and democratic debate, with the guarantee of permanence of all the communities and popular neighborhoods situated in the areas of ongoing interventions. A project which respects the right to the work, in a way that the workers are not punished for commercializing in the public space. A project in which the environment be effectively preserved. A project in which there is no privilege to the big economic groups and the private costs be paid with private capital, and not with public resources.
