Congo: African Parks commits to investigate allegations regarding rape and torture of indigenous people by employed guards in the Odzala-Kokoua National Park
The UK's Mail Journal published a major investigation revealing that Africa Parks, a conservation charity with strong ties to Prince Harry has been funding rangers responsible for horrific abuses against Indigenous people in the Congo, including torture and rape. The abuses have been allegedly perpetrated in the Odzala-Kokoua National Park in the Republic of Congo. An area inhabited by Baka and other hunter-gatherers who have lived in and cared for the Congo Rainforest since time immemorial. First abuses were raised 11 years ago by Survival International. The charity promptly responded to the Mail's article indicating that they have "zero tolerance approach to abuse" and committed to investigate the claims.
