Duda Farms response to rights abuse by labour supplier Rancho Nuevo Harvesting

Duda Farm Fresh Foods, Inc., is committed to ensuring that its workforce, whether employed directly or through labor contractors, is treated with dignity and respect and is provided a safe, healthy, and fair working environment. These standards are clearly defined in our legal agreements with labor providers and we monitor and audit our labor providers on a regular basis to ensure that these requirements are being met.

We have reviewed the alleged violations of various requirements of the H-2A program outlined in the settlement agreement between a Duda Farm Fresh Foods labor provider and the Department of Labor. We have discussed the facts and circumstances of the alleged violations with the labor provider and made clear that such actions are unacceptable and violate the standards we require from our labor providers. We have set forth to the labor provider our expectations of enhanced compliance measures that must be implemented to ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local statutes and regulations pertaining to farm operations and the employment of agricultural workers. Going forward, we will have heightened scrutiny of the services being provided by the labor provider with no tolerance for further violations.
