Edgar Martín Regalado, an environmental defender was assaulted and death threatened by an armed group when he accompanied officials from the Oaxaca State Environmental Protection Agency (Propaeo) to close down the illegal extraction of stone material in the area known as El Barrancón, which supplies material for the rehabilitation of line K of the Interoceanic Railway.
