On 7 December 2024, at least eleven activists were detained in an occupied forest area in Freiburg, Germany. They were protesting against the city's order to clear the forest to make way for a new development project, which includes the construction of a gas pipeline, a tram line, and parts of a school and sports campus. The activists are accused, among other things, of violating the ban on wearing masks, the assembly law, and a general order issued by the city.
