Equileap publishes 2019 ranking of companies on gender equality in the workplace

Equileap researched 3,519 companies in 23 developed economies, representing 98 million employees, and ranked them based on 19 gender equality criteria... There has been an increase in the average score of the 100 best performing companies over the past few years, up to 62% this year compared to 57% in 2018... The top five companies, Diageo, Mirvac, Bank of America, L’Oreal and Telstra are neck and neck... Women continue to occupy for the most part the lower levels in the workplace: 36% of the workforce are women, versus 21% in senior management, 15% at executive level and 22% at board level... 

[Key findings]:

  • 1% of companies with no pay gap globally...
  • 58% of companies without a sexual harassment policy...
  • 88% of companies still not publishing their pay gap...
  • Suncorp Group - only company achieving gender balance at all levels...
  • Air New Zealand - only company with no pay gap from the board to the workforce
