Guatemala: Pescadores protestan por contaminación en el lago de Izabal y responsabilizan a minera y palmicultora

…Durante siete días los pescadores artesanales de la gremial del lago de Izabal de las comunidades de El Estor…denunciaron la contaminación del lago de Izabal y las autoridades estatales no hicieron nada para investigar a las empresas productoras de Palma Africana y minería. Los pescadores responsabilizan directamente a las empresas Compañía Procesadora de Níquel de Izabal, S.A. (Proinco) y Naturaceites de ser responsables de evacuar sus desechos tóxicos sobre varios afluentes que están contaminando el lago de Izabal. Con esto no solo contaminan el lago si no que al mismo tiempo asesinan a los peces y otras especies en el lago…
