On 16 November 2024, human rights defender Isidoro Bautista was attacked by armed gunmen in Colombia. He was a member of The Farmers Association and People Affected by the El Quimbo Hydroelectric Project (ASOQUIMBO) and was actively resisting the hydroelectric project EL Quimbo owned by Enel. On June 28, 2023, Asoquimbo issued an early warning to denounce various human rights violations, including harassment, threats, and murders targeting artisanal fishers in the region.
