Luis Alberto González López, a leader of the Las Parillas sector, has been accusing Aguas de Barranca of dumping tons of mud into the San Silvestre marsh, a biodiverse area where West Indian manatees used to find the perfect place to mate. On 8 February, 2021, a pamphlet signed by the ELN was circulated in which it was told that Luis Alberto had 72 hours to leave the area or else it would be declared a military objective.
