Panasonic update to Kawaguchi case

As per our latest update provided on January 10, 2025, we have been closely monitoring the repayment of the recruitment fees to former Kawaguchi Manufacturing workers to which we decided to contribute proportionally in collaboration with the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) and local stakeholders.

Despite utmost efforts, challenges remain in the identification process of former Kawaguchi Manufacturing workers and in confirming the accuracy of the received workers’ information, affecting prompt bank transfer to the workers, which we regret. To address this, an alternative payment method is being implemented, which is expected to accelerate the repayment process.

Understanding the precarious situation of the workers, we keep on monitoring the remediation progress and are hopeful that with the support of all relevant stakeholders, the repayment process can be completed as soon as possible.
