Response by Tanahu Hydropower Limited

Tanahu Hydropower Limited (THL)  as a promoter of Tanahu Hydropower Project on Seti River in Tanahu district of Nepal is informed about the article “Nepal hydropower project affected persons: Failure to uphold free, prior, informed consent” posted on 24 February 2020. Following the filing of their complaint to both co-financiers, namely Asian Development Bank (ADB) and European Investment Bank (EIB), the complainants requested an independent mediation process. The Office of the Special Project Facilitator (OSPF) of the ADB and European Investment Bank Complaints Mechanism (EIB-CM have proposed a collaborative resolution process between complainants and THL as a way forward. THL will participate with full support in his collaborative resolution process facilitated by the ADB-OSPF and EIB-CM and seek a mutually acceptable and sustainable solution.
