On 22 August 2024, Rowena Dasig, an environmental defender from Southern Tagalog, Philippines, was reportedly released from the Lucena City District Jail. However, her whereabouts are still unknown.

Dasig is the Secretary-General of Anakbayan Southern Tagalog. A resident of Rizal Province, she advocates for the rights of marginalized communities, especially farmers and fishermen affected by environmental threats.

On 12 July 2023, she and Miguela Peniero were arrested by the army in purok Banaba, barangay Caridad Ibaba, Atimonan. They were arrested while conducting community research to analyse the potential impacts of the proposed combined cycle gas turbine power project and liquefied natural gas terminal plant to be operated by Atimonan One Energy, Inc. (A1E) on territory belonging to coconut farmers and fishing communities.

The Business & Human Rights Resource Centre contacted Atimonan One Energy to respond to the allegations, it did not.
