Violations found in Norilsk Nickel structures after death of workers at the factory, March 04, 2021
An inspection of Rostrud revealed a number of violations in LLC "Bear Stream" after an incident at an enrichment plant, which resulted in death of three people, according to the agency's website.

On February 20, a collapse of about 1 thousand square meters occurred in the crushing shop at the Norilsk Concentrating Plant (part of the Norilsk Nickel subsidiary Medvezhiy Ruchey). As a result of the emergency, three workers died, five more were hospitalized.

“During supervisory activities, significant violations of labor protection were revealed, in particular, it was established that during the repair work, design documentation was used without assessing compliance with state regulatory requirements for labor protection; before the start of work, an approval certificate was not issued for work on the territory of the organization. In addition, no measures were taken to ensure the safety of the work," the report says.
