The Nikolayevskaya-on-Amur inter-district environmental prosecutor's office inspected compliance with environmental legislation by Belaya Gora LLC (part of Highland Gold) in Khabarovsk Territory. Based on the results of the inspection, the company was fined a total of RUB 330,000.

In particular, inspectors found that during gold mining, the subsoil user discharged wastewater into the Zayachy and Pokrovsky streams with a concentration of phenol exceeding 281 times, zinc by 18 times, and lead by eight times. Waste storage was discovered in a place not equipped for such purposes. This was reported by the Amur Basin Environmental Prosecutor's Office.

Currently, the landfill at the site has been liquidated and the violations have been eliminated. The official was brought to disciplinary liability.
