Samsung Electronics did respond

Samsung Electronics' response to Govt. agency rules unsafe work environment caused congenital diseases

The case concerns children born before 2010 for which epidemiological investigations led by the Occupational Safety and Health Research Institute (OSHRI) found "insufficient scientific evidence of a relationship between the workers’ children’s illness and the workers’ occupation," making the existence of such a relationship unclear.

It is important to note it is ultimately the KWCWS, ...that determines whether a case is an occupational accident, taking into account the objectives of the occupational accident compensation insurance system.

At Samsung Electronics, to promote our employees' health and wellness at the workplace, we work closely with domestic and international occupational health experts to regularly inspect and monitor our working environment and keep up to date with the industry's best practices.

Our comprehensive chemical management system includes regular screening of chemical materials and their byproducts, so that we may remove any hazardous substances from our operations.

Ensuring easy access to health professionals and services is also integral to our approach to our employees' health and wellness.

Moreover, independent of the KWCWS’ decision, our Compensation Committee, composed of outside experts, provides financial support to current and former employees, including those whose children developed congenital disorders.

The health and wellness of our employees are of utmost importance to Samsung Electronics and we are fully committed to making our workplaces safe and healthy.
