This is a response to
Access Now calls on 14 global platform companies to reinforce one key recommendation from Ranking Digital Rights' Scorecard 2022 index, which examined how 14 global platform companies' policies and practices affect their user's rights to freedom of expression and privacy. Access Now received responses from Yahoo, VK, Kakao, Meta, Microsoft, and Amazon.
After Access Now called Meta to be more transparent about government censorship demands following the Ranking Digital Rights Big Tech Scorecard 2022 recommendations, Meta responded by raising questions about RDR's standards and findings; RDR provides responses to each of Meta's claims and affirms that Meta can do better if they try.
The 2022 Ranking Digital Rights Big Tech Scorecard ranks the major big tech companies on their policies & practices affecting free expression & privacy. The main recommendation to all the tech companies is to accelerate their efforts to develop and implement rights-respecting policies and practices across their operations.
