In May 2021, Amnesty International Switzerland published a report alleging abuse and ill-treatment, including use of force, torture and lack of access to healthcare, of asylum seekers by security guards in federal asylum centres. According to the report, the Swiss Secretariat for Migration (SEM) contracted Protectas AG and Securitas AG to run the federal asylum centres.

Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited both Protectas AG and Securitas AG to respond to the allegations outlined in the report.
