"Palestine protest hits Aviva in Motherwell and Perth", 28 February 2025
Two Scottish Aviva offices have been targeted with red paint due to the company's ties to Israel.
The company allegedly provides the mandatory employers liability insurance for the UAV Engines factory in Staffordshire, which produces the engines for drones supplied to the Israeli military.
The group Palestine Action accused Aviva of facilitating the production of drones used to kill and surveil Palestinians in both the West Bank and the Gaza Strip...
A Palestine Action spokesperson said: “By providing the legally required insurance for Elbit’s Israeli drone factory to operate in Britain, Aviva directly enables and profits from the genocide of the Palestinian people.,,
"Palestine Action will continue to target all those who facilitate the operations of Israel’s biggest weapons firm, Elbit Systems, until they cease ties.”
An Aviva spokesperson said: “We have had some disruption overnight at our Perth and Motherwell offices. Our first priority is to ensure the safety of our people. This has not impacted our service to customers.”
