USA: Japanese megabanks urged to stop supporting LNG/methane projects with ecological threat; incl. co. responses & non-response

Activists from the Rio Grande Valley, Texas joint Rainforest Action Network met with representatives from Japanese insurance company and Japanese megabanks, MUFG, Mizuho, SMBC.

Japanese megabanks MUFG, Mizuho, SMBC are leading in financing LNG expansion, including Rio Grande LNG, which may harm local low-income communities and wildlife with pollution.

We invited MUFG, Mizuho, SMBC to respond to the allegations. MUFG and SMBC responded. Mizuho did not respond.
