Vitol response to Bread for All rejoinder

...Nonetheless, overall we are somewhat disappointed by Bread for All’s (BFA) approach, both in the published report and our subsequent correspondence. BFA’s focus appears to be entirely on box ticking and the publication of documents on our website, rather than real impacts. In addition, BFA appears to continue to misunderstand of some of the key facts. As mentioned, Vitol holds itself to high standards of behaviour. We have no doubt that relevant external stakeholders which have conducted thorough due diligence into the way we work would support this, as would Group employees and the communities with which we work. I therefore reiterate my invitation for you to visit any of the operations in which we are a significant shareholder or the communities in which we are involved in Cote d’Ivoire. To be clear, our approach to these fishermen is not a ‘CSR project’, it exemplifies our recognition of our responsibilities to these communities and their human rights - in real actions rather than simply on paper.To very briefly cover off the points you make in your letter:...
