Wal-Mart tries to halt [gender] discrimination suit [USA]

Lawyers for Wal-Mart will on Monday make a bid to stop what would be the largest ever US employment discrimination law suit from proceeding to trial...Wal-Mart's lawyers will seek to persuade a panel of three judges of the Ninth Circuit court in San Francisco that it is wrong to consider the women as a single class, arguing that Wal-Mart deals with pay and promotion issues on a store-by-store basis.
