In response to Business & Human Rights Resource Centre's invitation, Yura sent two official letters addressed to IndustriALL dated August 5 and 6 as well as an official letter of the Labour Union regarding the 'Decision on the suspension of the strike on June 26, 2024'.

...1. Regarding union allegations that workers at Yura Corporation d.o.o. are underpaid.

Workers at Yura Corporation d.o.o. have never been underpaid. For the May 2024 payroll, the average salary (before taxes) of a production worker at Yura Corporation d.o.o. was EUR 869 per person, and the average salary (before taxes) of a full-time worker per month was EUR 911...

...Yura Corporation d.o.o.'s salaries are approximately 32% higher than the average...

2. Regarding the allegations that Yura Corporation d.o.o.'s bonus system is a punitive policy

Yura Corporation d.o.o. pays a bonus for every full day worked in a month to encourage employees to attend work. In addition, for late arrivals and weekend absenses, the bonus is calculated and paid according to the number of days worked without reducing the basic salary.

Please note that work on weekends is voluntary and employees are paid a separate allowance for working on weekends in accordance with the standards stipulated by the Serbian Labor Code...

3. Regarding the claim that the company was passive in negotiating with the union

During the strike that occurred at Yura Corporation d.o.o., the company was sincere in its negotiations. It was rather the union that refused to talk. As soon as the union started a partial strike on June 7, 2024, the company conducted negotiations with the union representative with the presence of a lawyer on the same day, but the union left the meeting place after being accompamnies by an outsider and refused to negotiate.

The company continued to to engage in negotiations with the union on June 10, 2024, and mediation meetings hosted by the Ministry of Labor of Serbia on June 12, 2024 and June 14, 2024...

...The recent partial strike ended on June 26, 2024.
