...[The] SRSG [UN Secretary General's Special Representative on business & human rights] announced in early 2009 that nineteen leading corporate law firms from around the world would provide pro bono support in identifying whether and how national corporate law principles and practices in over forty jurisdictions currently foster corporate cultures respectful of human rights… The firms’ reports will be posted on the SRSG’s website this Fall… York University’s Osgoode Hall Law School…will convene an expert multi-stakeholder consultation in support of this project in November 2009 in Toronto… The SRSG convened the participating firms in the CLT project on 30 June 2009 in New York…to discuss emerging trends, overarching conceptual issues and challenges in preparing individual reports.
