Several industries saw improvement in both the average rating and the number of top-rated businesses: airlines; computer hardware and office equipment; food, beverages and groceries; insurance; law firms; and, retail and consumer products... Of the 35 industries represented on the HRC Foundation Corporate Equality Index, five have no top-rated companies: engineering and construction; forest and paper products; mining and metals; residential real estate; and waste management. [Lists 259 companies with perfect score and 304 others. Four businesses with improvements of at least 50 percentage points: American International Group (AIG), Bayer, Nestle Purina PetCare (part of Nestlé), Omnicom. Two companies continued to receive a rating of zero out of 100: ExxonMobil and Perot Systems. Two other companies opposed shareholder resolutions to amend their non-discrimination policies to include gender identity: Verizon and Wal-Mart.]
