"MOI's human rights department helps 2,336 change employers", 23 February 2017

The Human Rights Department at the Ministry of Interior (MoI) helped 1,000 people change employers permanently and 1,336 people temporarily last year, Director of the Human Rights Department Brigadier Abdullah Saqr al Mohannadi said. Since the establishment of the Human Rights Department, it has been promoting "equity and confidence building" initiatives, which aims at resolving complaints received by the department. Mohannadi said the department now receives more complaints. "There is effective cooperation between the MoI's Human Rights Department and the National Human Rights Committee (NHRC)," Mohannadi was quoted as saying by Al Raya newspaper. He said now there is communication between the two parties regarding petitions, complaints and human rights-related issues almost every day.
