UN Guiding Principles: ABA steps up to the bar [USA]

[T]he American Bar Association's [ABA] House of Delegates (the ABA's policy-making body) passed a resolution endorsing the United Nations Protect, Respect and Remedy Framework on Business and Human Rights, and the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights...This statement has particular force, given the ABA's prominence and size. It is now beyond reasonable argument that lawyers who represent corporate clients must familiarize themselves with the Guiding Principles in order to help their clients manage their business with respect for human rights.[refers to Allens Arthur Robinson, Clifford Chance, Linklaters, Weil, Gotshal and Manges]
