UN Working Group requests information on implementation of UN Guiding Principles by small & medium enterprises (due: 28 Feb)

"UNWG - Study on challenges and opportunities for the implementation of the UNGPs by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)", Feb 2017

The UN Working Group on business and human rights is seeking information, for a report on the challenges and opportunities for the implementation of the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs) by SMEs. The UN WG is particularly interested in examples of opportunities for the implementation by SME of the UNGPs, including initiatives that are supported by; 1) Governments, 2) inter-governmental organisations, 3) business/industry associations, 3) TNCs/business enterprises (through leverage and support to SMEs in their supply chain). The WG would be grateful if relevant information could be sent to [email protected] by 28 February 2017, indicating "SME REPORT" in the subject line.

The WG will present the report to the Human Rights Council at its 35th session in June 2017.
