UNICEF launches consultation on child rights self-impact assessment tool for mobile operators (deadline: 18 Mar)

In consultation with key partners which include Millicom, GSMA and other subject matter experts, UNICEF has led the development of a new self-assessment tool designed to support mobile operators in strengthening their corporate policies and processes with respect to issues such as child online protection, child labour in the distribution of SIMs and scratch cards, child exposure to e-waste and the use of security forces in safeguarding network towers.

The consultation for the Mobile Operator Child Rights Impact Assessment tool (MO-CRIA) will last through March 18th. We are seeking feedback from telecom operators on the contents and functionality of the tool before the final version is launched at the end of Q1 2016. You can download the draft tool and guidance document, access a recording that describes the functionalities of the tool on http://www.unicef.org/csr/toolsforcompanies.htm. We encourage you to provide feedback on the tool using the feedback form on this site, and sending it back to us via [email protected]
