[video] First-Ever European Union “Jobs” Index Launches, Ranking EU Countries by Quality of Work

[A]t the Progressive Economy Forum 2014 conference in Brussels, the first-ever EU JustJobs Index will be released detailing which European Union countries rank highest in terms of employment opportunities, job security, equality of treatment and opportunity, rights at work, income security, and other indicators addressing quality employment...Launched...by the JustJobs Network and the Fafo Institute for Applied International Studies...[it] examines countries’ ability to create and sustain quality jobs... In the JustJobs Index’s EU28 findings, which included indicators available for all EU countries, the top five countries with the most “just jobs” are Luxembourg, Sweden, Estonia, Finland and Denmark. The bottom five countries are Romania, Greece, Italy, Malta and Spain. In the JustJobs Index’s EU21 findings, which included all Index indicators, the top three countries are Sweden, Denmark and Finland, while the bottom three countries are Poland, Greece, and the United Kingdom.
