Human rights defender and former employee of Thammakaset Nan Win is facing criminal defamation under sections 326 and 328 of the Thailand Criminal Code. The complaints, filed by Thammakaset in October 2018, relate to a 107-second film published by Fortify Rights on October 4, 2017 that called on the Thai authorities to drop criminal defamation charges against 14 migrant workers at the Thammakaset-operated chicken farm in Lopburi Province and to decriminalize defamation in Thailand, including Nan. If convicted, Nan Win faces up to four years in prison and up to 400,000 Thai Baht (US$12,100) in fines. The verdict has been postponed to 8 June 2020 due to the coronavirus outbreak.
