First Union organiser Sarah Thompson said the industrial action related to a collective bargaining dispute around wages. Workers were wanting to be paid the living wage...

...In a written statement the Swedish fast-fashion giant said it took pride in being a fair and equal employer and was committed to reaching an agreement that supported the needs and well-being of H&M staff.

...A week ago union workers voted against an offer made by H&M following three days of collective bargaining...

"The offer from the company and what we are seeking to achieve are so far apart that we needed to start putting pressure on them now."

If H&M did not provide a satisfactory offer there would be further strikes...
