Vigil outside construction company over $100,000 pay dispute

Huang Guo Hua and Feng Jin say they are prepared to sit vigil outside the headquarters of building company Anson Construction until they are paid the $100,000 they claim they’re owed for gardening and painting work.

The two women sat this week on a grass verge outside the company’s offices…

The company’s director admits the protest is causing “large reputational damage”. He did not commit to settling the alleged debts.

Guo Hua says she is owed $61,000…

Jin says her boss is owed $40,000 for painting work…

Anson’s website says they have offices in Auckland, Singapore and Malaysia…

Victor Lee, who is not a shareholder, became the sole director of the company last November and said he’d been given a “hospital pass” with the situation, saying the project pre-dated his involvement in the company.

He said he was taking legal advice and trying to “negotiate with the shareholders. At this moment, a lot of things are quite messy”…
