Myanmar: Garment workers at Huabo Times denied social security benefits incl. medical treatment; incl. co. responses

In August 2023, it was reported that workers at Huabo Times factory faced a series of violations including denial of social security benefits incl. Medical treatment, wage cuts if workers take leave incl. maternity and sick leave, workers denied overtime if they miss a day of overtime work, factory entrances blocked with boxes of clothing, and workers having to move machines and clothing to make space, non-functional fans, workers forced to eat their lunch in 5 breaks despite 30 minute break time, and a union that operates according to the employer's wishes.

In January 2024, the Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited Inditex (for its ZARA brand) and BESTSELLER (for its ONLY and Vero Moda brands) to respond. The responses can be found below.
