Percy Vilchez Chiroque, Gregorio Ynga Sánchez, Santos Elías Mendoza, Félix Maza Juárez, Casimiro Maza Juárez and Félix Maza Flores, Sra. María Lidia Maza Flores, Sres. Reynaldo Palacios Yesquén, Reynaldo Palacios Anastacio, Sr. Wilmer Maza Sandoval and Sra. María Valeria Silupú Fernández) dedicate themselves to defending their territory against the interests of large-scale agricultural projects. Due to their activism, they are facing 9 criminal accusations from two companies, the Civil Association San Juan Bautista (Asociación Civil San Juan Bautista) and the Agricultural Company Santa Regina SAC, related to the conflict over the different interests in the land in their community. The accusations include property damage, fraud and theft. All attacks against the land rights defenders remain in impunity.
