The Labor Inspection Department has fined the Georgian branch of Chinese company China Railway 23rd Bureau Group Co 50,000 GEL ($16,845/€15,326) for violating work safety rules that caused the death of one worker, announced the Georgian Ministry of Health.
China Railway 23rd Bureau Group Co is building the Kvishkheti-Zvare tunnel. As of today, construction work has been suspended.
"The inspection revealed violation of safety rules, in particular, the use of damaged, amortized, technically faulty heavy equipment, workplace safety violations, and inaccurate/incomplete identification of hazards”, said the Georgian Ministry of Health.
