Fast Retailing's response to allegations of abuses in Myanmar garment factories - February 2024 Update

GTIG HUBO

All GU business with this factory, including the last shipment, had been concluded prior to the events described. Although GU has no direct links to this case, GTIG HUBO INDUSTRIAL CO., LTD is a GU supplier through several other factories in our supply chain (all outside Myanmar). Through this relationship, we have been able to confirm with the GTIG HUBO factory that overnight work was arranged on the 19th of August, in agreement with workers. According to the factory, proper overtime payments were made the following day. We are currently reviewing documents received from the factory to verify their description of events. However, we have also requested to GTIG HUBO INDUSTRIAL CO., LTD and its factories that they do not ask workers to commit to such unreasonable work schedules, even if obtaining worker consent.

Jia Xin

According to our records, including our order data and confirmation with our sourcing team, there is no business relationship with this factory and any of our brands. Further, there is no record of any orders being placed through an intermediatory.

Since respecting the human rights of all people who work in our supply chain is embedded in our policy and business operation of Fast Retailing, if there are further evidence or solid information provided for related the cases, we will take further actions accordingly.
