India: Workers across tea gardens in Assam protest acquisition of Daloo tea estate

In June 2022, it was reported that the Assam government had cleared swathes of the Daloo Tea Estate for the construction of an airport, resulting in protests by workers. Management responded by declaring a 'lockout' of the garden, suspending work and stating that workers would not be entitled to rations or wages. In July 2022, it was reported that the estate management had withdrawn the lockout notice.
