In the Turkestan region of Kazakhstan, violations were identified in uranium mining, 15 September 2022
A number of industrial safety violations were detected at a uranium ore mine in the Turkestan region, reports the Industrial Safety Committee of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
“An inspection of hazardous production facilities and dangerous technical devices of Appak LLP was carried out. Twenty-one violations of legislative requirements in the field of industrial safety were identified. State inspectors issued an order to eliminate the identified violations and imposed an administrative penalty in the form of a fine...,” the message says...
Violations were identified at Appak LLP:
- there are no acceptance test certificates carried out with the participation of a state inspector when commissioning hazardous production facilities;
- there are no protective covers made of anti-corrosion material on the flange connections of pipes operating under conditions of discharge of aggressive liquids;
- the auxiliary power supply device located in the compressor workshop is not connected to an uninterruptible power supply;
- it is allowed to spill ammonium nitrate in the ammonium nitrate warehouse and other violations.
