"BDS South Africa holds nationwide protest against Woolworths", 30 Aug 2014: Pro-Palestinian lobby group Boycott, Divestment Sanctions in South Africa (BDS South Africa), held a national day of protest against retailer Woolworths...More than 40 actions were held countrywide, with one in Johannesburg turning rowdy. The group wants the retailer to stop sourcing products from Israel....BDS South Africa accuses Woolworths of acting recklessly and says the retailer is not interested in aligning itself with human rights and ethical and responsible business practices by continuing to import products from Israeli companies...Woolworths, in a statement, says it is concerned about the violence. The retailer also stated that it does not source products from occupied territories, suppliers are closely monitored and only a small percentage of its food is sourced from Israel...
