Myanmar: Garment workers report abuses including mandatory overtime & verbal abuse; incl. co. responses

In February 2024, it was reported that workers at S.M Myanmar are facing a series of violations, including mandatory overtime without paying workers' overtime pay, bias regarding who receives the additional professional fee depending on expert level, wage cuts if workers take leave, day labourers fired if there is no work, and unclean water. It was also reported that a day labourer was fired in 2023 after he had hurt his hand on a machine while working.

In September 2024, Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited Mayoral and LPP (for its House brand) to respond. The response can be found below.
