"Two workers from Wai Hua Myanmar were dismissed after having a workplace dispute", 7 February 2024
The manager of Wai Hua Myanmar garment factory which [is] locate[d] at Shwe Pyi Thar Industrial Zone (1) had fired two workers who had a workplace dispute due to misunderstandings.
A worker explained that two workers had a dispute regarding the installation of needle cover for the sewing machine while the inspectors from the brand were to come.
“We had disputed regarding the work but we [didn't] do anything which would harm to each other. The factory dismissed us instead of resolving...,” said Ma Nwe New Aung...
“They don’t take any actions [when] the [supervisors do] the same. They [called for] overtime until mid-night 00:00 without providing transportation. The two workers would have [made] mistakes as they [had] to...[work] urgently just before the inspecting team [came],” They are forcing the [staff] to sign warning[s] and dismissed them for minor mistakes while they don’t see their own mistakes...,” said a worker who don’t want to be named.
Wai Hua Myanmar garment factory...is manufacturing MOHITO...Hang Ten, Cortefiel...brands with more than 600 workers.
