A report (linked below) by the Justice for Myanmar highlights the alleged involvements of companies in Y Complex, a development built on a land belonging to the Myanmar military. The report notes that the Myanmar military have been accused by the United Nations of carrying out genocide against the Rohingya people and crimes against humanity against other ethnic minority groups.

The companies named in the report are: Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC); Mizuho Bank; Japan Overseas Infrastructure Investment for Transport and Urban Development (JOIN); Okura Hotels; Ayeyar Hinthar's subsidiary, Yangon Technical and Trading Co. Limited (YTT); and Tokyo Tatemono and Fujita Corporation (a subsidiary of Daiwa House) that created Yangon Museum Development. (Also mentioned in the report is the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), a Japanese public financial institution.)

Business and Human Rights Resource Centre invited the above mentioned companies to respond to the concern raised in the report, except JBIC since it is a public entity. The companies' response or non-response are provided below.
