UAE provides fathers with 5 days paid leave in what is said to be a regional first

An amendment to UAE Labour Law was approved in August 2020 which gives employees five days of paid parental leave, to be taken within the first six months of the baby’s birth. Previously private sector male employees had no entitlement to paid paternity leave, although some companies did provide some at their discretion. State sector male employees were previously entitled to three days of paid leave. The move also gives mothers an extra five days of maternity leave.
