A new study carried out by Jordanian organization Sadaqa (the study is available only in Arabic) between June and July 2020 highlights the poor working conditions of women workers in the agriculture sector. The study documents the experiences of women workers and the challenges faced by them in using public transportation to and from their workplaces. The study is based on interviews with 83 women workers in the agriculture sector. According to the study 92% of women workers in the agriculture sector receive salary less than minimum wage, while 100% of the respondent do not have social protection and health insurance.

The study stresses the need to adopt a regulatory framework for workers in the agriculture sector in accordance with the labour law and international standards, with the aim to provide regulate their wages, work hours, holidays, social protection and health insurance.
