Víctor y Marcelino Sahuanitla Peña were brothers working at the Media Luna mine owned by Torex Gold in Guerrero State, Mexico. Workers have been on strike to protest the alleged closeness of CTM (their union) to Torex Gold, and to advocate for their right to join another union called Los Mineros. On 18 November, a group of men on strike were allegedly fired upon, and Victor and Marcelino Sahuanitla Peña were both killed. Torex Gold has released a response which can be found below.
